Speaking & Media

Real change starts with understanding the hidden forces that shape human behavior.

Explaining How the Human Mind Really Works

My work helps audiences understand why people act the way they do, and how to design solutions that work with the human mind rather than against it. I bring clarity to complex situations by explaining the psychological dynamics that shape our behavior and beliefs — and what they mean for decisions at the personal, organizational, and societal level.

What I Speak About

People usually invite me when familiar explanations stop working and behavior starts to feel confusing or contradictory. My talks and media contributions focus on situations where familiar explanations stop working — when change, pressure, or complexity make behavior feel confusing, and when doing the “right things” still leads to disappointing results. I explore topics such as:
  • Why behavior change efforts stall or backfire in organizations, healthcare, and public life.
  • The psychology of motivation, habit formation, wellbeing, psychological resilience, and burnout.
  • The cognitive biases that shape human behavior, explaining why fear spreads faster than facts, why societies become polarized, and why we cling to familiar routines even when we know change is beneficial.
  • The human consequences of technological change, including AI.

The emphasis is always on sense-making. My role is to help people see patterns, underlying mechanisms, and unintended consequences they may be missing, and to offer clearer ways of thinking and talking about organizational and social change. Because that's when solutions stand a better chance of working in the real world.

Types of Engagements

These topics show up in different settings and require different kinds of conversations.

  • Sometimes what’s needed is a structured keynote that helps people reframe how they think about human behavior and change.
  • At other times, these issues emerge in live public debates, where emotions run high and a clear, grounded perspective matters.
  • And in some cases, the most useful format is an interview or moderated conversation, where we can slow things down and make complex social dynamics easier to explore.
